What is Aeura?
Aeura is a biotheraputics company with a line of three herpes related products. The products are specifically engineered to treat Genital Herpes, Cold Sores and Shingles respectively. The formulas were created by a German scientist and are touted as completely natural having no long term effects. The company claims the products are effective because they boost your immune system which in turn controls outbreaks. All three come in pill form and are to be taken daily. If taken daily, the company claims the product will limit future outbreaks.
Natural Remedies
Homeopathic remedies gain in popularity more and more every year. It is reported that 50% of households throughout Europe use one type of homeopathic remedy or another. There is still little in the way of clinical research linking many of these remedies to the claims they make, but there is ever mounting anecdotal evidence that naturally sourced medications can be as effective as their pharmaceutical cousins. The upside, of course, is these natural remedies generally have no long term effects.
Aeura is one of a number of products to use some of these homeopathic remedies to treat HSV-1, HSV-2 and other herpes related illnesses. Each of their three herpes formulas can be purchased over the counter and do not have any known side effects nor do they react with any medications.
Risks
The biggest risk you take with any homeopathic drug is less a physical risk and more of a financial one. Without the research behind them that pharmaceuticals provide, homeopathic remedies are in a more nebulous section of the scientific arena. As I mentioned, there is mounting anecdotal evidence of their effectiveness, but not the clinical research backing them up you would expect from a more traditional treatment.
Aeura especially troubles me in this area because there is little information available about the ingredients, there are few testimonials and it is difficult to look into their research. What information is available is scant. That doesn’t mean the product doesn’t work, there are a number of happy clients out there, but it makes it difficult to compare Aeura with other products of its kind.
Although the company claims Aeura will not react with any medication, it is still my recommendation that you consult your physician if you take any kind of medication or have any allergies.
Benefits
The best thing about using a homeopathic remedy is the limited risk associated with its use. Aeura simply uses a blend of natural herbs and extracts to boost your body’s immune system in order to more effectively fight off the herpes virus. No matter what a company claims, this is still the best way to control an outbreak. There are no chemicals or additives in Aeura that will alter your body’s natural chemistry like you would expect with a prescription drug.
Conclusion
Weighing the pro’s and con’s, Aura would fit somewhere in the middle to low end of the natural herpes medication spectrum. The natural ingredients and lack of side effects make it an attractive choice but the lack of information available to the consumer and virtual non-existence of clinical testing hurt Aeura’s rating in my book.
