Aviralex
What is Aviralex?
Aviralex is a sulphate-based solution with copper as a trace metal in an aqueous herbal base meant to be used as a topical treatment for herpes. Aviralex contains the herb Lemon Balm and ammoniated acid in deionized water. The makers of Aviralex point out specifically that the “Aviralex molecule has both an acid group and Sulphur molecule attached and that the formulation process is an essential factor in the makeup of the product.” That may not make a lot of sense, as it did not to me, but they claim this combined effect is what causes the Aviralex to penetrate through the membrane of the herpes virus destroying the virus on contact.
Main Ingredients
As mentioned in the first sentence, sulphur is one of the main ingredients in Aviralex. Sulphur is used because of its natural ability to fight infection. The leaves, stems and flowers of the Lemon Balm are also active in Aviralex. Lemon Balm has been used medicinally since Roman times and is widely used as an all-natural therapy to suppress HSV-1 and HSV-2. The soothing sensation often associated with the use of Lemon Balm also makes it a popular remedy for the inflammation and pain associated with herpes sores. It is believed that flavonoids, polyphenolics and other like compounds in Lemon Balm are responsible for Lemon Balm’s anti-herpes actions.
In order to provide sufferers with the needed anti-viral activity, Aviralex makes use of St. John’s Wort Experiments, both in test tubes and in animals, have indicated that two of the active chemicals in the plant, Hypericum and pseudohypericin, are clearly effective against a number of retroviruses, including HSV-1 and HSV-2.
Application
Aviralex is meant to be used on an active outbreak of herpes. The makers point out that the product should be applied to active lesions to ensure the product penetrates into the skin. Each bottle contains up to 40 applications which the company claims is enough to all but eradicate the virus and seriously limit the potential for future outbreaks.
Side Effects
Aviralix is an all natural substance that has not been associated with any serious side effects. Caution should still be taken if you are on any other medications or have certain allergies. For the most part there is little in this product that would cause any real concern.

This can be a very effective topical treatment for herpes outbreaks.
